Key Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
In-Process Inspection:
Inspect raw materials, cut parts, and assemblies at various stages (cutting, welding, drilling, painting, etc.)
Check dimensional accuracy as per fabrication drawings and standards.
Verify welding quality, alignment, joint fit-up, and surface finish.
Final Inspection:
Conduct final inspection of completed components before dispatch.
Ensure all components meet the specified tolerances and surface preparation.
Tag and mark inspected items with QC stamps or identification tags.
Welding & Paint Quality Checks:
Conduct visual inspection of welds and report defects (undercut, porosity, cracks, etc.)
Measure and record dry film thickness (DFT) of painted components.
Ensure proper surface preparation (blasting, cleaning) before painting.
Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain inspection records, checklists, and test reports.
Record NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports) and assist in root cause analysis.
Coordinate with production and QA teams for corrective actions.
Standards & Compliance:
Ensure compliance with relevant codes/standards (IS, AWS, ASTM, etc.)
Ensure that work is carried out as per approved ITPs (Inspection & Test Plans).
Coordination:
Coordinate with production and welding teams to resolve quality issues.
Assist in customer or third-party inspections when required.
Key Skills & Competencies:
Knowledge of fabrication drawings and quality standards
Familiar with measuring instruments (Vernier, micrometer, weld gauge, etc.)
Understanding of welding symbols, defects, and inspection methods
Experience with painting inspection (WFT/DFT, surface profile, etc.)
Attention to detail, problem-solving ability
Basic computer knowledge for reporting and documentation
Qualifications
Qualifications & Experience:
Education: Diploma in Mechanical /Degree
Experience: 2–5 years in QC in PEB / steel fabrication / structural industry
Preferred Certifications: NDT Level II (RT, UT, PT, MT) is an added advantage
